IRAN - Tehran Facing Severe Water Shortage

ree

Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian warned against excessive water consumption which he said was untenable for the country and could leave Tehran facing severe shortages by September, semi-official Tasnim news agency reported.

“In Tehran, if we cannot manage and people do not cooperate in controlling consumption, there won’t be any water in dams by September or October,” Pezeshkian said.

Excessive water consumption represents a major challenge for water management in Iran, with the head of Tehran province’s water and wastewater company Mohsen Ardakani telling Mehr news agency that 70% of Tehran residents consume more than the standard 130 liters a day.

Natural resource management has been a chronic challenge for authorities, whether it is natural gas consumption or water use, as solutions require major reforms, notably in the agricultural sector which represents as much as 80% of water consumption.

Commentary: Iran is an archenemy of Israel, the nation that has the best expertise when it comes to production and conservation of water.

Environmental protection and meteorological organizations recorded a 40% drop in rainfall over the last several months.

What’s next for Iran? Many prognosticators predict Iran’s collapse, since it is ruled by religious authorities, hence the name, Islamic Republic of Iran. The nation was formerly known as Persia.

Way back in Daniel’s time, when he was praying for the rebuilding of Jerusalem, he received a heavenly vision: “And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves” (Daniel 10:7). The heavenly messenger encourages Daniel, “O Daniel, a man greatly beloved” (v. 11a), and then makes a strange statement in verse 13: “But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.” Quite simply, this is a spiritual issue. The princes and kings are demonic entities, attempting to hinder the prophecy Daniel received.

Daniel 10:14 reads: “Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.” While the issue at hand was the return of the captives to Israel and the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem, we take note of the words “latter days.” Quite true: Iran (Persia) again wants to hinder the fulfillment of prophecy for Israel today.

They, along with a number of other countries/nations/states, have made their goal the destruction of Israel. But as we know from prophetic Scripture, all enemies of Israel will fail in the end. Why? Because of the Prince of Peace, as prophesied by Isaiah: “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

One should advise the president of Iran (Persia) to read the book of Daniel.
