The annual ranking assesses 173 cities worldwide across stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure to identify those offering the highest quality of life. Vienna, Melbourne, Sydney and Zurich rounded out this year’s top five, reflecting both Europe’s enduring dominance and Australia’s continued strong showing.
Taking the top spot for the second year in a row, the Danish capital [Copenhagen] earned perfect scores in stability, education and infrastructure, and one of the highest culture and environment scores of any city. For residents, that translates into a lifestyle where simple pleasures are built into the movement of the city.
Top 10 most livable cities in 2026: 1. Copenhagen (Denmark); 2. Vienna (Austria); 3. Melbourne (Australia); 4. Sydney (Australia); 5. Zurich (Switzerland); 6. Geneva (Switzerland); 7. Osaka (Japan); 8. Adelaide (Australia); 9. Vancouver (Canada); 10. Tokyo (Japan).

Commentary: While Europe mostly leads this list when it comes to well-being, social interaction, and healthy living, Australia also gives a strong showing with three cities in the top ten. The only city on the America continent is Vancouver, Canada.
No cities in South America or Africa are listed in the top 20. Nevertheless, we see these statistics improving globally. There will be more prosperity, increased peace, and reduction of crime in general.
If we were to compare the quality of life with that of 100 years ago, indeed, tremendous progress has been made. Why? We may answer: improved technology, better healthcare, and higher quality and diverse foods readily available. But we think there is more to this; namely, the fulfillment of 1 Thessalonians 5:3: “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”
While reading, hearing, or watching various reports from around the world, it seems things are getting worse. But in reality, it is vastly exaggerated. Why? Because in our days, we can get detailed, up-to-date news about events from around the globe instantly.
Humanity as a whole always desires peace and safety, but only on its own terms. That is true when we look at families, towns, cities, or states. Yet there will be a day when people from all political persuasions, all religions and philosophies will agree and exalt the Antichrist for bringing peace and safety to the world. That is the only way he and his cohorts can convince humanity that he is “the christ, the savior of the world,” albeit the false one.
