WORLD - Climate Reaches Record Extremes

Of the 16 climate markers that researchers consider integral measures of how the Earth is doing, seven are currently at record extremes, while multiple others show evidence of accelerating or abruptly shifting, the report published in the peer-reviewed journal BioScience said.

Climate change appears to be accelerating, and its effects are becoming more intense, the researchers warned. They noted that the patterns they’d observed while compiling the report had raised concerns about their potential to cross a point of no return, one at which their impacts on various ecosystems would be irreversible.

Amplified sea ice loss, ecosystem degradation and carbon emissions could also begin to create their own self-perpetuating feedback loop—the crux of the “hothouse” climate trajectory, where various tipping points act as catalysts that push global warming far past humans’ control.

Commentary: The published statistics cannot be denied, but there is a problem: The earliest recorded report about global temperature started around 1880. What happened before then?

“Ancient underwater structures and submerged cities are scattered across the globe, revealing how earthquakes, tsunamis, and post-ice age sea-level rises swallowed coastal settlements.”

During those ancient days motorized vehicles, planes, trains, and mechanized factories did not exist. Yet, according to the article from Wikipedia, the sea level did rise, as clearly testified by archaeological sites deep underwater.

It is good for us to know that we need not be afraid of the warnings of the news media and researchers. We know the beginning from the end.

That the earth will disappear is actually not news. A 20-year-old book titled Decoding the Universe (copyright 2006) by Charles Seife, an award winning scientist, states in the introduction: “No matter how advanced our civilization becomes, no matter if we develop the technology to hop from star to star or live six hundred years, there is only a finite time left before the last living creature in the visible universe will be snuffed out.”

Revelation 21 begins: “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”
