ISRAEL - No Genocide in Gaza

Seventy-five retired senior military leaders and legal experts rejected accusations that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, arguing in an open letter released by the Jewish Institute for National Security of America that Israel’s conduct does not meet the legal definition of genocide.
They also challenged arguments based primarily on Gaza casualty figures, saying genocide is not determined by the number of deaths. The letter questioned figures issued by Hamas, noting that they do not distinguish between civilians and combatants.
The signatories also pointed to humanitarian assistance entering Gaza, saying more than 3.5 million tons of food, 48,000 tons of medical supplies and 5,000 tons of baby food were delivered, while Israel supplied up to 15,000 cubic meters of desalinated water per day. More than half a million Gazan children were vaccinated during the war, and about 5,000 Gazans were evacuated for medical treatment abroad, according to the letter.

Commentary: In a previous commentary, we mentioned that Israel had the military capability to indeed commit genocide, but such action is clearly forbidden under the authority of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
What we do know, however, is that Hamas gave their fighters the distinct order: Kill Jews. And that they did. How strange that very little is heard about the intended genocide by Hamas.
The last paragraph—in plain, factual numbers—exposes the false claim that Israel committed genocide.
What is deliberately overlooked is that the majority of Gazan civilians wholeheartedly supported Hamas’ intention to commit genocide against the Jews.
Yes, hospitals, schools, residences, apartments, and mosques were destroyed, but what is not being told is that it was from these places Israeli soldiers were fired upon.
Over and again, Israel has clearly documented what happened in Gaza. No one can deny that several hospital and healthcare facilities harbored large numbers of destructive weapons, thus making them a legitimate military target for the IDF.
What is happening prophetically? Here we need to open Scripture: “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth” (Isaiah 62:1).
This is not describing Israel’s military action against Hamas terrorists, but behind it all is the Lord’s Word. When we ask why the Lord is concerned about Zion and Jerusalem, we must read verse 2: “And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name.” We know that this points to the future, when the Gentile world will actually see the righteousness of the Lord.
In the meantime, we echo the statement in Psalm 2:1: “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?” The Lord answers: “Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion” (v. 6).
