The faint “afterglow” that fills the universe has long been one of the most important clues supporting the Big Bang theory. Known as cosmic microwave background radiation, this ancient light not only serves as a snapshot of the early universe, but also helps scientists understand how the very first galaxies came to be.
Now, a team of researchers from the Universities of Bonn, Prague, and Nanjing is challenging what we thought we knew. Their new calculations suggest that the strength of this background radiation may have been significantly overestimated. If their findings are confirmed, it could force scientists to rethink some of the most fundamental ideas in modern cosmology.
“According to our calculations, however, it could be that this background radiation doesn’t exist at all,” explains Prof. Dr. Pavel Kroupa from the Helmholtz Institute for Radiation and Nuclear Physics at the University of Bonn and Charles University in Prague. “At the very least, we are convinced that its strength has been overestimated.”
The physicist, together with scientist Dr. Eda Gjergo from the University of Nanjing in China, has been investigating a particular group of galaxies called elliptical galaxies.
“Our calculations indicate that some of the cosmic background radiation actually originates from the formation of the elliptical galaxies,” says Gjergo. “This accounts for at least 1.4% of the radiation but could even account for all of it.”

Commentary: This once again shows that many scientists who come up with new inventions are fulfilling 1 Timothy 6:20: “…profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called.” True science does not change!
Simply calling it “the Big Bang theory” is strictly faith based. Note the words, “Their new calculations … significantly overestimated … rethink some of the most fundamental ideas in modern cosmology.”
While we respect true science, we need to caution that science based on imagination and faith is not science. Whoever is involved in these matters should read the first four words in Scripture: “In the beginning God.” The starting point is important. It will always lead to truth. Theoretical science starts with man. Why is he here? How did he come here? Where is he going? Great scientists like Galileo, Kepler, Newton, and many other started their scientific inquiry on the right track: “In the beginning God.”
Well-known scientist Ray Kurzweil was asked, “Does God exist?” He answered, “Not yet,” thus indicating his expectation of a manmade god. Evolutionists, atheists, and materialists are eagerly at work to produce their own god.
Read Isaiah 44:10-20. No wonder at the end, the evolutionists, materialists, and atheists will lament because of the loss of God-created material. Revelation 18:11 confirms: “And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more.” Thereafter, it lists 28 items humanity had used to build their own homemade god, which all vanished.
Simplified Summary
1) Materialists must believe that at some point one rock talked to another one: “Let us exchange information.” Without information, nothing would exist.
2) True Biblical-based science clearly documents that age deteriorates everything. Materialists believe the opposite: Age rejuvenates—incidentally, without a trace of scientific evidence.
3) Topsoil: One only needs to go where settlements (subdivisions) are about to be built, with the land never having been used for agriculture or industry. Quite amazingly, it’s usually 1-3 feet of topsoil. Where does topsoil come from? Vegetation. Some statistics say it takes 100 years, others 200 years to produce one inch of topsoil from vegetation. Using simple math and the 1 inch per 200 years estimate, means about 6,000 years for 1-3 feet of topsoil!
