Today, something strange is happening

And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee” (Isaiah 60:10).

The above Scripture speaks of the future, which we can determine by the rest of the chapter, particularly verse 18: “Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.” That is future.

Today, something strange is happening.

Y Net Global reports:

Senior figures from the global defense and security sector are expected to arrive in Israel for Defense.Tech Expo 2026, the country’s largest defense and homeland security exhibition, at Expo Tel Aviv.

The exhibition, organized by the Steir Group, is being held for the first time and is positioned as a meeting point for Israeli defense industries, international delegations, senior decision-makers and technology investors. Organizers estimate the investment in the event at approximately 2 million shekels.

The conference program, curated by a steering committee led by Brig. Gen. (res.) Ran Kochav, former commander of Israel’s air defense array, will focus on urban warfare, border control, perimeter defense, unmanned systems, robotics, artificial intelligence, weapons systems and homeland security. Live demonstrations by startups and established firms are expected to showcase operational capabilities.

The exhibition is sponsored by Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Trade Administration at the Ministry of Economy, the Israel Export Institute and the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce. Participating companies include Israel Aerospace Industries, IWI, Israel Shipyards, and a range of Israeli and international Defense.Tech firms.

To understand that this is “strange,” we must look at Israel’s beginning.

1947

Google summarizes: “In 1947, many nations and US officials did not support the immediate creation [of the State] of Israel due to fears of regional instability, potential loss of Arab oil supplies, and concerns about a Soviet foothold in the Middle East. The US State Department favored a UN trusteeship over partition, fearing war.”

When it comes to arms shipments to the Jewish State, we read from a Google search: “Before the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the primary source of arms for Jewish forces (Haganah) was Czechoslovakia, which provided large quantities of weapons, including rifles, machine guns, and ammunition, often with Soviet approval.”

2026

Today, Israel’s high-tech military is the envy of the world—particularly since the initial Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. This invasion caused shockwaves throughout Europe in particular. The most proven defense against incoming missiles is Israel’s Iron Dome, a 100% Israeli system with a rather amazing track record. One report states: “The Iron Dome system has intercepted over 5,000 rockets and missiles since its deployment in 2011, maintaining a success rate of over 90%.”

But there is much more to come. In the meantime, Israel has developed an advanced, high-powered, laser defense system: Magen Or (Iron Beam), designed to destroy rockets, drones, and mortars at the cost of only a few dollars per interception.

No wonder the nations of the world are trembling. The prophet Jeremiah declares: “Blow the trumpet among the nations” (Jeremiah 51:27a).

Here we must again recall that the nations of the world did little to nothing when it came to arms shipments to the Jewish people in the infancy of the establishment of their State in 1948. Now, apparently the issue is reversed: The Western world desperately seeks Israeli technology, Israeli defense systems, and Israeli military expertise.

While these nations are seeking Israel’s help, nevertheless, Israel will be disappointed. Here we are reminded of Isaiah 28:18: “and your agreement with hell shall not stand.”

In the end, what’s decisive is what Scripture says regarding Israel: “But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel. They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine” (Isaiah 29:23-24).

When analyzing the almost explosive demonstration of antisemitism, anti-Zionism, and anti-Jewish sentiment, we take notice of what the heathen prophet Balaam declares: “I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly” (Numbers 24:17-18).
