SWEDEN - EU Must Freeze Trade Deal with Israel

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson demanded that the European Union freeze trade with Israel until unrestricted humanitarian aid is allowed to enter the Gaza Strip.

Kristersson’s accusation comes amid growing international discord over the humanitarian situation in Gaza. While both Israel and the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation have repeatedly refuted claims of famine and deliberate starvation in the Strip, international organizations have levied the claims in their condemnations of the ongoing war against Hamas.

Swedish Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard told Dagens Nyheter that the Swedish government has made clear that it intended to increase pressure on the Jewish state for a ceasefire in Gaza—despite the US claiming Hamas was not being serious in its negotiations.

Testimonies from released hostages have revealed that many of those remaining in captivity have been exposed to deliberate starvation and acts of torture by the Palestinian terror group.

Commentary: With each passing day, week, or month, voices in Europe accuse Israel of failing to fulfill its basic obligations. This is usually presented first as an anti-Hamas statement, but then proceeds point a finger against Israel.

In the meantime, an abundance of documentation has been found declaring Hamas’ intention to eradicate the Jewish State. That, however, seems to be overlooked. Sweden and many European states feel quite comfortable blaming Israel for the chaos in Gaza, deliberately overlooking the terrorist and murderous organization Hamas. One source of the IDF stated, “We have not found a single house without propaganda material against Israel.”

What is the future? “Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness” (Isaiah 1:27).
