State of Israel is a miracle

ree

The Lord GOD, which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him” (Isaiah 56:8).

The above Scripture clearly reveals the various waves of immigrants returning to the land of their fathers, Israel. The Jewish Virtual Library states that 600,000 Jews were residing in Israel in May 1948. During that year, some 110,000 additional Jews arrived, bringing the total population to between 800,000 and 850,000. By the end of 1952, another 738,000 arrived.

From Muslim States

We take note that, from predominately Muslim countries, Jews arrived from Turkey (35,000), Syria and Lebanon (34,000), Iraq (124,000), Iran (25,000), Yemen and Aden (48,000), Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria (52,000), Libya (32,000), Egypt (17,000), and from other Asian countries, 7,000. Total immigrants from Muslim-dominated countries numbered 370,000.

From Communist States

Jewish Virtual Library also states that over 307,000 came from communist states.

A Google search reveals that between 2023 and 2025, over 78,000 Jews migrated to Israel. That seems somewhat illogical and unnatural, since one does not go to a country surrounded by enemies, with wars ongoing in the south, the north, and in the east. To a place where, during some periods of time, sirens would sound, warning the population to seek secure shelter. Thus, a logical question: Why would anyone in their right mind want to go to Israel? Stay home and be more secure! But that is not what is happening. Something else is occuring in the invisible world. We find the answer in the above Scripture: “Yet will I gather others to him.”

The Miracle

The very existence of the State of Israel is a miracle. Interestingly enough, the world at large does not recognize that fact.

We are reminded of what the prophet Isaiah declared some 2,760 years ago about the Israelites: “And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not” (Isaiah 6:9). When Jesus ministered to Israel, He declared the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy: “And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive” (Matthew 13:14).

God’s aim becomes increasingly clear: “Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people” (Isaiah 56:7). That is God’s goal for His people. Yet the world at large sees and hears about Israel without really believing it.

We take note of the words, “mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.”

Jesus refers to this prophecy: “And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves” (Mark 11:17).

When analyzing Israel today, we cannot but realize that God is at work. What He has begun, He will fulfill in His time.

Air Superiority

The Israeli air force demonstrated their superiority over Iran, more than 1,000 miles away. Today, Israel rules the skies over the Middle East. Is that normal? No, it’s miraculous!

We are reminded of Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”

Economic Success

In the meantime, we are witnessing something else quite remarkable: Israel’s resilient economy. Globes.co.il reports on some successes: “Israel startup raised over $1.5 billion in June … Shekel gains strongly against US Dollar … Bank of America optimistic on Israel … Rafeal win $2.2 billion Romanian air defense deal … Xero buys Israeli fintech company Melio for $3 billion.” The list can go on and on.

Happiness

VisualCapitalist.com reports on the annual ranking for world happiness in 2025. While the top of the list consists primarily of European countries, Costa Rica is #6 and Israel is #8. The list was compiled from a survey of over 140 countries.

DailyPassport.com notes, “Although Israel ranks as one of the top 10 countries in the happiness index, it’s impossible to ignore the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis that have devastated the region. Indeed, there has been a slight decrease in Israel’s happiness score, from their No. 5 ranking in 2024. However, Israel ranked highest for residents’ quality of social connections in 2025, according to the report, followed by Mexico and Argentina.”

The Good News

According to the Times of Israel website, the Christian community is growing: “Israel’s Christian community grew by 1.4 percent in 2020 and numbers some 182,000 people, with 84% saying they were satisfied with life in the country, the Central Bureau of Statistics said in a report.”

We will continue to pray for Israel, for His Church, and for the eternal testimony we read of in Isaiah 55:3: “Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.”
