MOLDOVA - Water Emergency

Moldova’s pro-European leaders said that they were asking parliament to declare a state of emergency for energy and water supply in connection with dangerously low levels on the Dniester River it shares with Ukraine.
President Maia Sandu, who has spearheaded a drive for Moldova to join the European Union by 2030, had earlier chaired the Security Council meeting and said its members had recommended introducing emergency regulations quickly.
“The share of renewable energy sources has increased, but we still don’t have the necessary capacity to cover consumption during peak hours,” she told a press conference.
Moldova’s government has been concerned with low levels on the Dniester for months.

Commentary: Moldova is a landlocked country with about 2.3 million inhabitants. After the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, this nation declared its independence.
Religiously, they are Christian by tradition.
According to Wikipedia, their per capita GDP is $21,170 (PPP). Life expectancy at birth is 72.8 years. That is on the lower end globally. At the top of the industrialized nations is Japan at 85.2 years, South Korea 84.6 years, Switzerland 84.4 years, Australia 84.3, Italy 84.2, Spain 84.1, Norway 83.8, Sweden 83.7, and France 83.7 years.
The issue is membership in the European Union, the world’s most prestigious club.
In this case, water is the point. A Google search reveals: “By late August 2026, inflow into the Dniester Reservoir plunged to just 31 cubic meters per second … the lowest inflow ever recorded.”
Records are to be broken, but water coming from the heavens will continue to pour down upon planet earth. Sometimes it seems to be irregular, but in the end, nothing will change, because that is the guarantee of God.
The prophet Isaiah proclaims: “For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee” (Isaiah 54:9).
