Israeli-European relations are plunging to further depths in light of the latest developments in the Middle East. According to unnamed sources quoted in Israeli media, Israel refused to allow France to participate in mediation talks between it and Lebanon, claiming France is an “unfair mediator.”
“In terms of relations with the State of Israel, Israel still has a lot of credit in its contribution to the EU, especially in terms of innovation, especially in its security and defense industry, which Europe needs,” Dr. Maya Sion-Tzidkiyahu, director of the Israel-Europe Relations Program at the Mitvim Institute and a lecturer at the Hebrew University European Forum, told The Media Line. However, she added that “The relations with the current Israeli government are clearly ruined.”
Since the Gaza conflict and the recent war in Iran began, Spain has led European opposition to Israel. It has sharpened criticism of Israeli military actions, restricted conflict-related cooperation, refused support for Iran-linked operations—clashing with the US administration—and seen Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez repeatedly urge the EU to suspend its Association Agreement with Israel.
France has also taken a series of measures viewed in Jerusalem as increasingly hostile, including prohibiting Israeli aircraft from using French airspace to assist with fighting Iran and maintaining restrictions on Israeli participation in major defense exhibitions—moves that have already prompted Israel to suspend defense procurement ties with Paris.

Commentary: In view of these negative diplomatic developments against Israel, one has to ask a simple question: Why Israel? Because this super-successful Jewish nation reveals the criminal past of, in this case, France and Spain. How did they establish colonies throughout the world? By weapons and force. No Indians, Asians, or Africans were attacking the home territory of Britain, France, or Spain. The Indians in the New World minded their own business—so did the Africans and the Asians. But they were brutally occupied and subjugated under foreign laws.
By condemning Israel’s purely defensive actions against Hamas, Hezbollah, and lately Iran, it is evident that these movements and independent states have as their goal the total elimination of the Jewish State. That is clearly genocide!
How far these diplomatic crises will develop is unclear. We should nevertheless consider Isaiah 28:18: “And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.”
