EU - Mega Trade Deal Signed

As the ink was drying on one of the world’s biggest trade deals, signed in Uruguay, and hailed as a milestone for the global economy, anger was brewing thousands of miles away in France.

Under the agreement between the EU on one hand, and Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay on the other, tariffs will be greatly reduced and the amounts of imports and exports allowed will be increased.

The deal would affect almost 800 million people.

The planned trade agreement will mean more South American beef, chicken and sugar coming to the EU, and at lower prices. While in the opposite direction, the likes of European cars, clothing and wine would have more access to the Mercosur zone.

While France is opposed to the trade deal, other EU nations, such as Germany, Spain and Portugal are strongly in favor of it.

Proponents welcome the fact it would be a marked contrast to Trump’s threats of increased protectionism.

Chris Hegadorn, adjunct professor for global food policies at Paris-based university Sciences Po, and former secretary of the UN’s Committee on World Food Security, says the agreement would overall be beneficial to Europe—including its farmers.

Commentary: While this article dates back to 18 December 2024, it shows Europe’s preparedness to deal with potential tariffs placed on European goods by the USA.

Again, we witness giants arising; in this case, representing about 800 million people.

What does this mean from Biblical and prophetic perspectives? An increasingly united planet earth. We must remember that Europe’s history is saturated with blood. Today, however, merchandise is the key to unity.

Where will it lead? Revelation 17:12-13 declares: “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.” Note the words “one mind.” That is global unity. In the end, the world will be so rich, so free, so prosperous that they will gladly welcome and serve the beast. That is now being developed globally, in order to fulfill verse 14: “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”
