"Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:6). The first resurrection includes all who have been saved; they shall never die.

An indescribable glory awaits those who have accepted Jesus as their personal Savior: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son" (Revelation 21:4-7). We do not have the ability to imagine what is being prepared for those who love God. Therefore, every believer has a deep desire and longing to be in the presence of the Lord, and thus, the Bible concludes: "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen" (Revelation 22:20-21).

Revelation 21:2,10 says: “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband...And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God.” The Lamb's wife, the Bride, is veiled in the glory of the heavenly Jerusalem. It is significant that prior to this vision, John is told to, “...Come hither, I will show thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.” Yet the Lamb's wife is not actually revealed, we only see the heavenly Jerusalem and its glory. It is also the dwelling place of God with man, “...Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men” (Revelation 21:3).

All who followed the deceiver will be judged: "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works" (Revelation 20:12). These are those who have died without accepting God's free gift of salvation. They will be judged, but will have no chance of salvation. We read this horrible statement in verses 13-15: "And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire."

What is their intention? "And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them" (verse 9). This is the final stand of evil against God and against His holy city. As we can see, this last conflict results in the total elimination of the opposition: "…fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them." There are no bodies or weapons left over.

Revelation 20:7-8 says, "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea."
