Limits for Immigrants

Faced with rising unemployment, the Swiss government is currently working on a dossier that would see limits imposed on the number of EU workers entering the landlocked alpine country.

Under bilateral accords signed with the EU, the Swiss government is entitled to limit the number of workers entering the country from the original EU15 member states, as well as from Cyprus and Malta, if unemployment rises above a certain threshold.

Access to the country’s job market was never extended to the EU member states in central and eastern Europe that joined in 2004.

New employment figures published by the state secretariat for economic affairs showed unemployment in April reached a new three-year high of 3.5 percent, adding to the prospects of a temporary limit on EU workers.

“Backed by the latest job market and migration statistics, the government will soon make a decision on the possible activation of the protection clause,” justice department spokesman Philippe Piatti told Swiss media.

Currently there are no restrictions on the number of EU workers that can take up job positions in Switzerland.

Switzerland is the world’s most desired destination for immigrants. Recent statistics revealed that 24 percent of people residing in Switzerland are foreign born. In the U.S., 13 percent are foreign born. Although Switzerland is not a member of the European Union, bilateral agreements have caused Switzerland to be a functioning member of the Union, nevertheless.

Presently, Switzerland’s attraction is not only based on the beauty of the land but also their extreme financial and economic power. This small country with a population of 7.7 million prides itself on being a major banking center of the world. Known for their accuracy in time keeping, Switzerland virtually dominates the high-end watch industry. Although the country is not known for its agriculture, Swiss company Nestle is the biggest food distributor in the world.

When it comes to political freedom, Switzerland is second to none. The country was able to keep its neutrality during the First and Second World War. They have not participated in any military conflict for over one and a half centuries.

The only flag really respected by the entire world is that of the Red Cross (red on white); the reverse (white on red) is the Swiss national flag.

In spite of these successes, unmatched by any nation of the world, Switzerland will and must in the end go in the same direction of the entire world. They will accept global authority under the auspices of the beast, whose final rulership will be sealed with the mark of the beast, as recorded in Revelation 13:16-17: “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”
