The British pound, for the people on the UK island is as holy as the 5 o’clock tee time and British football. But apparently things will change. Several holiday resorts such as Poole and Bournemouth are eager for the euro. They hope to revitalize their tourism industry. More than twenty businesses have participated in the latest action to attract tourists. The euro, which officially stands at 88 pence, will be accepted for the pound one-for-one.

It is not a matter of if but when Britain will succumb to the euro. In the last few years, the British pound has lost significantly against the euro. As a result, Britain has lost about 20 percent of its national wealth. Although nationalists, as in all countries, fanatically oppose the unavoidable death of the pound-sterling, in the end, common sense and practicality will rule the day.
