Dear Mr. Froese:
Recently I read the book, How Democracy Will Elect the Antichrist, written in the 1990s, I see. I believe your title is true, but the book seems to imply that whatever the election, it’s to be good. I disagree. The title implied he’d be Antichrist, and so I believed and still do! But what you wrote disagrees with my thought.
I’m over 80 and have read my Bible since the 1960s, so I do know how it ends for all of us.
I enjoy the Bible, but I’m wondering if you wrote this book (the title) just for selling a book—it just doesn’t harmonize with all the facts I see.
The Apostle Paul spoke of Antichrist in his day too, and I really believe we’re “in” for it today. In a way, I’ll agree that false “democracy” voted him in, if that’s what you mean. As Bush and others have all had their fling and false ways too to make money for themselves and to eventually unite with other world powers. Ah, but the dear Lord will take care of it all HIS way. I’m surely looking forward to it all.
But I just had to tell you that this old lady at least is provoked by your title of the book, and then the contents came across differently to me.
So I don’t believe as the title states that he got voted in by democracy, or could you have meant phony democracy?
I’m sorry this is lengthy, but for about the first time in my old life, I’ve gotten stirred up by politics, especially since it concerns the revelation of the Bible and all the people I love who are being tricked regularly by this so-called presidency.
If you’ve read this letter, thanks. I seem to recall your name from my younger days, but I’d surely like to know more of what you really believe about Obama and the days we’re coming to with him.

Answer: The provocative title, How Democracy Will Elect the Antichrist, reveals the desire of the people of the world. Since all people are sinners, their desire is to be ruled by the king of sinners, the Antichrist. Don’t forget that “the whole world lieth in wickedness.” It makes no difference whether a country is ruled by democracy, socialism, dictatorship or monarchy. All are corrupt, all are sinful, and all will be judged unto destruction when the Lord returns to planet Earth.
You are limiting your knowledge by your attempt to isolate the United States. By doing so, you are placing yourself in a straightjacket and are unable to grasp the issue from biblical perspectives. Unfortunately, the national gospel is taught from many pulpits in this country. But according to Bible prophecy, there are only two special nations. One is Israel, whose existence is based on the universe (see Jeremiah 31:35-36). The other nation is His Church. Our destiny is to be forever in the presence of the Lord, according to 1 Thessalonians 4:17. When you make a clear distinction between the world, Israel and the Church, you will better realize the temporary existence of this world as we know it.
Your statement, “Ah, but the dear Lord will take care of it all His way. I’m surely looking forward to it all,” I can endorse wholeheartedly with an Amen!
