Midnight Call,

I’m so thankful for the Midnight Call and News From Israel. God bless you. I share both issues.

I have a question I would like a soon answer to before I waste more money on it. Tell me if Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein is a scam mission or one that I can continue to help financially.

I am 92 years old and live off Social Security.

-V. VanRyzin, MO

Answer: Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein is the founder and president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. He is a very successful fundraiser, and his main source of funds seems to be from the evangelical camp. Also, he has written several books and appeared as a speaker in some Christian conferences. Online, he is listed as one who “tries to bridge the gap between Christians and Jews.” However, there is no evidence that such is being accomplished because of the simple fact that there is no need to try to bridge the gap between Christians and Jews. Actually we, the true Church, are part of Israel. Romans 11:17 makes this clear, “And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree.” Thus, verse 18 warns Gentiles, “Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.” That is one side of the story; the other is Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” Bridging the gap can only be accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. Any organization, movement or denomination attempting to bring about religious unity between the denominations, or as in this case between Jews and Christians, is doomed to fail. That also goes for the Ecumenical Movement. We are perfectly one in Him without any organizational infrastructure.
