Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love” (Galatians 5:6).

We have to acknowledge that the testing of our faith is vital because God Himself tests our hearts. David said at the end of his life, “I know also, my God, that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness” (1 Chronicles 29:17). As far as the future is concerned, the great test is still ahead of us when we appear before His face at His judgment of reward. If you test your faith today, honestly and truthfully, you may see that everything is lacking: power, victory, joy, fruit. You might have to admit, “My faith has no results; it is not active.” Let the Word of God reveal unto you that the actual engine of your faith is not working. What engine? Love. “Faith which worketh by love.” Only such faith is valid before God. Paul admonishes us, “Let all your things be done with charity [love]” (1 Corinthians 16:14). He knew that strong faith can only become active and steadfast through our first love for the Lord. Is your faith active through your love for Jesus Christ, or is your faith actually dead?
