SAUDI ARABIA - Helping Defend Israel Against Iran

Arno Froese

Saudi Arabia acknowledged that it had helped the newly forged regional military coalition—Israel, the United States, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and France—repel an Iranian attack against the Jewish state, according to a story on KAN News.

Jordan has been public about its involvement, while the closest Saudi Arabia has come to acknowledging it was the story it posted on its website summarizing what a source from the Saudi royal family had told KAN.

The individual subtly acknowledges Saudi Arabia’s supposed involvement in thwarting Iranian attack drones bound for Israel the previous evening, citing that Saudi Arabian airspace automatically intercepts “any suspicious entity,” the report on the royal family’s website stated.

In the words of the official, as put forth by KAN, “Iran is a nation that endorses terrorism, and the world should have curtailed it much earlier,” it said.

The joint defensive military maneuvers marked the first time that the five armies, with help from Saudi Arabia, had worked together as a nascent coalition to repel an Iranian attack.

Arno's Commentary

The article by the Jerusalem Post is nothing short of incredible. Particularly, that Jordan, the UK, and France were actively involved in repelling Iran’s drones and missiles.

Even more surprising is that Saudi Arabia apparently downed some of the projectiles on their way to Israel. What is less amazing is that Israel has the capability to successfully destroy Iranian drones and missiles. Now the door is open for Israel to utilize its air force, the world’s most successful, to harm Iran. War destroys, but quite apparently, war also unites.

Under the Clinton administration, the late King Hussein of Jordan, with the late prime minister of Israel, Yitzhak Rabin, signed a peace treaty on 26 October 1994. However, this peace treaty was never effectively implemented, as Jordan continues to condemn Israel’s activities in defending against terrorism.

The CIA Factbook lists Saudi Arabia as home to 38 million inhabitants, with 58–90% Sunni and 10–12% Shiite Muslim. Life expectancy is 76.9 years (2023 estimate), and GDP per capita $50,200 (2022 estimate). Exports for 2022 stood at $446 billion, and imports at $258 billion. In plain words, super rich.

Wikipedia lists population density per square kilometer: Saudi Arabia, 17; USA, 35; UK, 277; Israel, 416.

Regarding Christianity, Open Doors states: “There are an estimated 2 million Christians in Saudi Arabia — mostly foreign workers—compared to over 32 million Muslims, according to Open Doors. It remains illegal to hand out Bibles, though tourists can carry personal Bibles.”

Investigations revealed that Iran had plans to install its own type of government in the Kingdom of Jordan.

What does the Bible say about Saudi Arabia? Not much, but we read in Jeremiah 25:24: “And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert.” What will happen to these listed “kings”? Verse 26 declares: “And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.”

When will that happen? When Jesus returns at the battle of Armageddon. It is the day of Jacob’s trouble. Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Jeremiah states, “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble, but he shall be saved out of it” (30:7).
