A Minor Prophet with a Major Message
Amos warned Israel that God was angered by the religious perversion and social injustices of the nation, and would not withhold judgment while its members continued in sin. Amos proclaimed that social inequity is a symptom for meaningless religiosity. The evident social injustices indicated the barren spiritual condition of the people.

God’s Plan of the Ages
The biblical covenants are literal, eternal, and depend entirely upon God’s sovereignty. They were made with a covenant people, Israel. Since the death of Christ is the basis of salvation for all people (Tit 2:11)—for all time—the church has become a partaker of the Jewish spiritual blessings.

Living Godly in an Ungodly Age
Those who would live godly often encounter unyielding opposition to the commands and doctrines of Scripture. If the godly are to be victorious, they must call upon the Lord, because only He can protect the godly when they are the minority among the ungodly.
