Nationalism and Patriotism

Dear Editor,

I am a poor lonely widow who sometimes feels hassled by personal shortcomings. I “accidentally” came across your magazine three years ago.

The abrupt proposal (when I first came into contact with your teachings in Midnight Call Magazine) that the Body of Christ, which Dave Hunt so wonderfully teaches, the Bride of Christ, is not Churchianity entranced me to the truths, which are necessary to consume in order to prepare and to be prepared for Jesus’ quick return.

You promote many “strange” things; for instance, that the United States will not succeed  through its program of patriotism, the existence/function of our Constitution and our inheritance of democracy. Strange that it is true our condition of failure as a nation under God is God’s program.

I have not encountered warning signals from other Christian ministries emphasizing the shocking reality that our goal is not American.

You bring into question American tradition with the finality and seriousness of God’s rod of iron. This is that time, the endtimes. But are we not going to observe it?

That God has elected to ground Christians in His truth regarding the nations of this earth and their opposition to His will, that repentant sinners born from above may be relived of the people, by the people, for the people and be instructed and guided to the Word, by the Word, for the Word is amazing grace.

It was not a mistake. I have enjoyed the privilege of joining your readership and have been able to grow in understanding Scripture in a new way.

Answer: Biblical Christianity has no relationship to patriotism, the Constitution, our inheritance of democracy and being under God. Jesus called the Church “the little flock.” The apostles make it clear that we are a small and insignificant minority, subject to rejection, mockery, and in some cases, even persecution and death. That’s the group of people the Bible identifies as the Bride of Christ, the chosen ones; for us, the best is yet to come. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me.
