Flesh and Blood

Dear Arno:

The following are some thoughts on the Scriptures for your personal interest. After His resurrection, Jesus referred to Himself as being flesh and bones. We refer to ourselves as being flesh and blood. He shed His blood on the cross and took it to heaven as referred to in Hebrews, and undoubtedly had the Spirit of God to fill His veins.

When we are changed at the Rapture, we probably will also have our veins filled with the Spirit of God. What about the blood that we now have? The Bible says that we are crucified with Christ. We won’t need blood in heaven.

I pray for you often and appreciate your ministry.

Answer: The Bible says that flesh and blood will not inherit the kingdom of God, which means we have to be translated. Even our Lord’s statement of being flesh and bones must not be compared to earthly realities because He is the first fruit of the resurrection. Jesus’ body was translated. He could appear and disappear. You can’t do that with earthly flesh and bones. We will be translated into a new body at the Rapture. Please read 1 Corinthians 15:51–55.
