Spiritual Strength For Each Day

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).

The Lord gives a twofold promise to those who accept this invitation. They experience this grace, the goodness of the Lord anew every day of their lives! This twofold promise is for all those who come to Him now, “I will give you rest,” and, “ye shall find rest unto your souls.” With these proclamations, the Lord is promising to give you new courage, to open up new perspectives to you, and to give you a new vision. He knows our frame, our very being. He knows our hearts’ restlessness and the undefinable haste in us. Therefore, for today and every coming day the answer is, come to Jesus with all your cares and worries. Do not confer with flesh and blood, but with Him and Him alone, “Come unto me.”
